BUDDING family historians in Sidmouth can get a helping hand in shedding some light on their roots at the Devon Record Office on Thursday (July 9). Members of the Devon Family History Society (DFHS) will be on hand at the Exeter site to untangle problems that people have encountered while tracing their family trees.
"The sorts of issues people most commonly encounter range from second marriages and illegitimate births to people moving around a lot or mis-spelling their names. There are ways to crack all of these problems and we are pleased to have the experts on hand to help", said Heritage Outreach Officer Katherine Weston.
To book a 45 minute slot at the event ring the Devon Record Office on (01392) 384253.
