A CHRISTMAS Treasure Hunt in Ottery proved a smash hit during the town's recent late-night shopping event.

More than 100 children joined in the search for missing puppies, of the stuffed toy variety, hidden around Abbotts DIY store.

Kids who took part were given goodie bags and lucky Ruth Dillon was handed a cuddly Dulux dog after winning a raffle.

A canine clad Jeff Abbott said: "The children certainly enjoyed the treasure hunt, and I think that the grown ups had a good laugh at us all dressed up in our dog outfits.

'The town was buzzing on late night opening, and had a fantastic atmosphere, so we are definitely looking forward to doing it all again next year.
