FIELDS of Sidmouth staff have chosen Devon Air Ambulance Trust as their Charity of the Year 2009.

They have adopted a different charity for the past few years.

Last year it was the turn of FORCE, the Exeter-based cancer charity, which benefited by £600 by staff raising funds.

Now DAAT will gain from staff running a variety of money-making events, such as sponsored gift wrapping, a sponsored slim, auction, Easter and Christmas prize draws, cake sale, collecting tins at tills, recycling mobile phones and toner cartridges, and a corporate Christmas card.

Trevor Roberts, Fields manager director said: "Once again staff have nominated a very worthy cause.

"Devon Air Ambulance provides a vital service, not only to residents of the county, but also in times of emergency to some of the many visitors to the area.

"I very much hope the staff will raise a significant amount to benefit the Trust."

Heléna Holt, chief executive of DAAT said: "We are delighted that Fields of Sidmouth has chosen to support the charity and very much look forward to working in partnership with them over the next 12 months.

"Support such as this is essential in ensuring the future and ongoing stability of the service in Devon.
