Steve Coogan's production company has paid tribute to Sidmouth residents and businesses for their part in shooting a new dark comedy which will air early this year.
Another Man’s Treasure, Sidmouth Wines and The Radway Inn all served as locations for Robin’s Test, Baby Cow Productions’ next show for Sky Atlantic.
However, the show will in fact be set in Dorset.
The six-part series, for which filming took place around the town in September, will centre on a group of couples on a camping holiday.
A spokesman for Baby Cow said: “The local business owners and residents were lovely to deal with, plus, we had the most stunning weather throughout.
“I think it rained about twice in the whole six-week shoot period.
“It was lovely and sunny and warm.
“East Devon looked absolutely beautiful. Everyone was very happy there.”
The sreies was written and directed by BAFTA award-winner Julia Davis, who also stars, alongside 2012’s Rufus Jones and Steve Pemberton, best known for The League of Gentlemen.
Cast and crew stayed at Ladram Bay Holiday Park while they were filming.
Robin’s Test is set to be shown early this year.
Sidmouth Wines owner Natalie Bowditch said she is looking forward to seeing the finished product, but it was a ‘bit odd’ that it will be set in Dorset.
Baby Cow was formed in 1999 by Alan Partridge creator Steve Coogan with Henry Normal, and now has The Thick of It writer Armando Ianucci as its creative director. It has produced episodes of Alan Partridge, The Trip and Gavin and Stacey.
