GRANTS: The town council is issuing a final reminder to Ottery organisations wishing to apply for a grant from them application forms needs to be in by October 31. You can download a copy from the Council website www.otterystmary-tc-gov.uk or call into the Council Office to collect one. Any successful organisation will be awarded its grant at the Annual Parish Meeting in April next year.

APPEAL: An appeal against the decision to block plans to convert a redundant barn at East Hill into residential accommodation has been lodged. The district council said in August the proposed development at Farwell Farm was without justification, and ‘is inappropriate and detrimental to the natural beauty of the area’. A decision from the planning inspectorate is scheduled for November.
