THE chairman and vice-chairman of Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Authority have been re-elected for the year 2009/10.
Councillor Bernard Hughes continues as chairman and Councillor Mark Healey stays in the vice-chairman's role following the Authority's annual meeting at its Exeter headquarters today (Tuesday).
Mr Hughes said: "I regard it as a privilege to be chairman of this Authority as I have always been very proud of the place that firefighters have in our communities.
"The Authority will continue to support them as they respond to emergencies and carry out community safety activity. They are the most cost-effective insurance policy that anyone could have.
