Fire crews had to force entry to a Sidmouth property after paramedics were unable to get in to treat a patient shortly after midnight this morning (Friday).
An elderly woman had suffered fall in Woolbrook Rise but the ambulance crews were unable to find an entry point.
Town fire fighters attended and carried out the controlled breakage of a rear glass pane.
The occupant was treated by paramedics and helped into bed.
The fire crew remained at the scene until her home was made secure and returned to the station at 2.20am.
