Firefighters were called to the A30 after reports of fuel leaking from a car.
Crews from Middlemoor and Honiton were sent to the A30 eastbound between Daisymount and Pattesons Cross shortly before 1.25pm.
A Devon and Somerset Fire Service spokesman said: “Fire crews confirmed one car leaking fuel, the vehicle was not involved in fire. Fire crews made the vehicle safe and absorbed the fuel spillage using Environment Agency pads. Fire crews moved the car to a safe location whilst the owner and passengers awaited the arrival of recovery.”
