A fire in a garage kept firefighters busy yesterday afternoon (Saturday).
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called to West Hill when smoke was seen billowing from the building in Toadpit Lane.
Its spokesman said: “The fire service were called to smoke seen coming from a stand alone garage.
“One crew from Middlemoor attended.
“On arrival the crews located the source of the smoke and confirmed that there was a small fire involving garden waste and household refuse.
“They used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and appositive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke.”
The emergency call-out came shortly after 3.30pm.
