Firefighters tackle Ottery blaze

FIREFIGHTERS donned breathing apparatus to tackle a blaze on Ottery s outskirts on Sunday.

FIREFIGHTERS donned breathing apparatus to tackle a blaze on Ottery's outskirts on Sunday.

Devon Fire Control received reports of smoke coming from an upstairs room at the Fairmile Inn at around 1.30pm.

Three appliances from Ottery St Mary, Honiton and Cullompton were mobilised.

On arrival crews found a small fire in a ground floor kitchen crews used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel to investigate the area and Positive Pressure Ventilation device to clear smoke logging.
