The first Crime and Safety Roadshow took place in Sidmouth this week.
The day was the first in a series of events, organised by the town’s Sergeant Andy Squires, in a bid to provide residents with a ‘one-stop shop’ to get advice on being safe. A number of roadshows are now set to take place across East Devon over the next twelve months.
Among those that attended were Devon and Somerset Fire Safety, South West Ambulance Service and Devon and Cornwall Police with internet safety, property marking, drugs awareness, force crime prevention officers and Devon and Cornwall Alerts. East Devon District Council’s Home Safeguard and Environmental Health teams also attended along with Home Instead Scam Awareness, Trading Standards, Drink Wise Age Well and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner. Sidmouth Cubs and Scout Group also provided tea, coffee and refreshments.
The next event will take place on February 10 at The Marshlands building in Seaton.
