The first-ever Sidmouth Daffodil Day which was cancelled due to snowy weather conditions will now take place on Easter weekend.

The event which will be held at Kennaway House was supposed to take place on March 3 and has now been rearrange for Easter Saturday (March 31).

The day, organised by the Sidmouth Daffodil Society, will feature walks to sites where the valley’s iconic flowers have been planted.

There will also be a talk from Lady Christine Skelmersdale, who holds the national collection of Alec Gray hybrids. Chelsea Flower Show gold medal winners will also be in attendance at a plant fair in the grounds of the house. Entry is free and the event will run from 10am until 3pm.

A society spokesperson said: “The idea of this annual event is to establish Sidmouth as a centre for the promotion of daffodils.”
