Sidmouth seafront lashed by huge waves on Sunday
TALK about flaming June! It was more like January at Sidmouth seafront on Sunday. This couple take a stroll along the rain-swept Esplanade, Sunday, not in shorts but in wet weather gear as the mist rolled in and huge waves battered the rock breakwaters.
The stormy weather claimed a victim. Bill and Evelyn Lankester had to cancel their community picnic in Blackmore Gardens, which they had organised to thank supporters of their Campaign 2010 fund-raising efforts to buy a minibus for Sidmouth Living With Cancer Support Group.
