Sidmouth Waitrose has agreed to a ShelterBox collection for Pakistan’s flood victims
A COLLECTION on behalf of ShelterBox will take place at Waitrose, Sidmouth, on Saturday to aid those whose homes have been destroyed by the floods in Pakistan.
Members from Sid Valley Rotary Club will carry out the collection on behalf of ShelterBox, which is currently providing emergency shelter for the flood victims.
The West Country charity has already provided aid for 1,000 families in Khyber Pukhtunkwa and Punjab regions of Pakistan in the past two days.
Aid Agencies estimate that more than three million have been affected by Pakistan’s worse floods in 80 years.
Each ShelterBox disaster relief tent can house a family of up to 10. The tents undergo rigorous testing in wind and rain tunnels and can withstand extremes of high and low temperatures.
