WITH the flooding of Tipton St John's primary school during yesterday's freak storm, temporary classrooms are being set up in the adjacent community hall.
This means an open day to launch the new community hall facilities planned for Saturday November 8 has been postponed.
For the next few weeks the hall will be used as temporary classrooms while the school building is being cleaned and repaired.
Mike Anderson, who announced the plans said: "This is a typical example of the village's community spirit to help each other out.
"The fact that we have just had a new extension built onto the community hall, funded by a major grant from the Big Lottery, has meant that we have been able to come up with a solution virtually on site, without having to consider more drastic options.
The hall's open day will now be held early in the New Year.
