Saturday, August 9 - THE unusual T-shirts with the word FOOD spelled in the form of a green footprint have caused some head scratching on the streets of Sidmouth and were well in evidence at the Glastonbury Festival.
THE unusual T-shirts with the word FOOD spelled in the form of a green footprint have caused some head scratching on the streets of Sidmouth and were well in evidence at the Glastonbury Festival.
The mystery has been revealed in the shape of the new food shop, Food Footprint, which takes all the work out of shopping around for locally-sourced food in order to reduce the carbon footprint.
Owner James Black, said: "Let's face it in this day and age nobody has the time to walk from shop to shop checking where the various products have come from."
The food shop, at the top end of Sidmouth High Street, stocks everything from bread from Otterton Mill to cheeses from Orchardlea and sausages, gammon, bacon from Devon Rose.
Where products cannot be purchased from a local source the shop purchases the produce from fair trade organisations.
