Former Ottery student wins national writing award

A former King’s School student has won a national writing award for her work supporting women in theatre.
Angela Street, who is originally from Honiton, was among the winners of the Olwen Wymark Award presented by The Writers’ Guild of Great Britain (WGGB).
She is the artistic director of Playwriting Salisbury+ which supports and develops writers throughout the South West and also founded the Juno Theatre for female theatre-makers.
Angela said: “I was very excited about it. I love working with writers on their scripts, its been so rewarding.
She was nominated by WGGB member Pippa Roberts, who was inspired by Angela’s work and passion for theatre and writing.
