THE group Animal Wardens is working with East Devon District Council to help re-home previously abandoned dogs.

With an increase in the number of dogs coming to its centres, it wants more volunteer foster carers to help them find lasting homes.

Its policy is to try to find the right home for the right dog, but it takes time.

Volunteer foster carers play a crucial role in the re-homing programme, providing dogs with a temporary loving home until a permanent home can be found for them.

For many dogs the kennelling system is a terrifying experience.

By using fosterers to spare these cases the ordeal of spending weeks or months in a kennel environment, these dogs are saved from what could be long-lasting mental distress.

A serious commitment, there are serious considerations to make before fostering a dog.

If you can give it regular exercise, afford to keep one, and be happy to have a dog in you household, Animal Wardens can be contacted on (0845) 241 7253 or email info@animalwardens.com.
