Caretakers have vowed to ‘outfox a fox’ after Sidmouth College’s flock of chickens and ducks was decimated by a wily predator this week.
The animal found a tiny laurel-covered gap in a boundary fence then mauled the birds.
The college’s animal husbandry project has proven popular with students so staff have been redesigning the poultry run and looking to replace the birds.
