THE first free Business Breakfast to tell employers the risks involved with business driving, takes place on Thursday at the Devon Drivers Centre, Exeter, from 8-10am.

Every day more than 150 vehicles being driven on company business crash, causing an estimated 14,000 fatalities and seriously injured.

Average repair costs following a collision can range between �750 and �4,500 per claim, which can have a considerable impact on businesses, both financially and through staff absence, as well as affecting morale and reputation.

The centre is offering free practical training and education to assist local employers committed to reducing the risks their employees are exposed to on the road.

A series of Business Breakfasts will take place to tell employers how to learn more about the risks involved with business driving and who sign up to attend the free training. Topics covered will include:

* Reduced accident losses;

* More effective vehicle use;

* Defense against criminal prosecutions and civil litigations;

* Lower insurance premiums;

* Lower transport costs;

* Less down time; and

* Improved safety culture.

Devon County Council also provides fuel efficiency driving training courses.
