Guests invited to Christmas feast in village pavilion
A generous couple are giving up their Christmas Day to offer lonely residents in and around Newton Poppleford a free meal.
David and Rosemary Zirker want to reach anyone in need over the festive period and are not only offering to foot the bill themselves, but will also arrange transport on the day for residents in the Newton Poppleford and Harpford parish.
They now have enough guests to hold the feast in the village pavilion and say there is space for more if people would still like to attend. The Zirkers say they recognise Christmas can be a lonely time for some people.
