FRIENDS from Sidmouth will enjoy a Christmas party at Blinis tomorrow night (Saturday) and hope to raise money to provide clean water to an African village.

Julie Chapman and friends Christina Morgan, Louise Cody, Jenny Lloyd, Lisa Roden and Becca Williams, decided to stage the fun party for 65 for the Buturi Project, run by Sidmouth shopkeeper Judith Smith, after successfully raising money for Cystic Fibrosis two years ago.

Again it has proved popular, with just a handful of tickets (£12) left at Paragon Books for the event, which will have music, dancing, a buffet and hot chocolate from 7.30pm to midnight.

Julie, whose husband Mark runs the bookshop, said: "A group of us go out every Thursday and decided to organise the party.

"We wanted to do something for children and this is taking water to children."

Those at the party will get a discounted ticket for entry to Carinas Nite Club after midnight.
