COFFEE MORNING: There is a coffee morning at 7 King’s Avenue, Ottery, in aid of Exeter Leukaemia Fund on Monday, August 13 at 10.30am

OLYMPIC RIDE: Olympic silver medal-winner Mary King is planning to ride through Sidmouth to thank the community for its support.
Mrs King, 51, won a team silver in the eventing at the London Games. Plans are afoot for her to ride through the town on her horse Imperial Cavalier on 17 August.

PLANNING MEETING: Ottery Town Council is holding a planning meeting at the Old Convent on Monday, starting at 7.30pm.

CATS GARDEN PARTY: After having to cancel its last event due to bad weather, the East Devon branch of Cats Protection is hoping the next event can go ahead and as many people can attend the garden party on Saturday, August 11, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm at Homefield, Longdogs Lane in Ottery.
There will be cream teas and homemade refreshments, as well as stalls and some of the kittens looking for caring homes will be available for a cuddle.

FAMILY FUN DAY: To help raise money for Ottery Carnival and the queen and princesses fund, there will be family fun day on the Land of Canaan on Sunday, August 26.
From noon all the way to 11.30pm there will be stalls, face painting, duck races, live music, a tug of war, bouncy castle, a licensed bar and lots more.

OTTERY’S GOT TALENT: After the success of last year’s competition Ottery Carnival Committeee are looking for talented locals to take part in the show on Saturday, November 3 at The King’s School.
Organisers are looking for people who can sing, act, dance, perform comedy or have circus skills to pick up an aplication form at the Tourist information Centre.
