More than 200 churchgoers from across East Devon gathered in Ottery St Mary last Sunday to enjoy an outdoor service, live music and largely dry weather.
‘A Perfect Day’ hosted by the Otter Vale Mission Community saw members from the area’s churches – including Ottery, West Hill, Tipton St John, Newton Poppleford and Harpford – meet at the Land of Canaan.
A barbecue, bar and children’s activities were on offer, while a soundtrack for the afternoon was provided by a live band - with the Reverend Steve Watson from Ottery Parish Church taking to the stage to show off his skills on the electric mandolin.
The Reverend Mac Dick said those who attended enjoyed a great day, despite some rain in the afternoon.
He added: “Fortunately we’d asked people to bring folding chairs and waterproofs!”
