Firefighters were faced with flames and smoke coming from a garage attached to a Ottery St Mary house last night (Sunday).
Three engines, from Ottery St Mary, Middlemoor and Sidmouth, were called to the scene in the Moorlands, Westhill, at about 6.30pm.
Crews spent just under an hour tackling the fire using two pieces of breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.
The garage was ten per cent damaged by the flames and 90 per cent damaged by the smoke.
