MONEY raised from a Berries, Cream and Music party, has raised 900 to create a secluded garden in memory of the former vice chairman of Sidmouth in Bloom.
Anne Bagwell, who died last May, aged 67, from leukaemia, organised the successful Secluded Gardens scheme run by the committee to raise money for floral displays around the town.
The invitation only event, held at Rock Cottage on Sunday; courtesy of Tom and Laura Griffiths, raised 834, which was made up to 900 by hoteliers Mark and Jo Seward.
President Joy Seward said: "I worked with Anne since 1972 and she is greatly missed by us all.
"We will be working with her family and East Devon District Council on this project."
*The Secluded Gardens event will take place between Thursday, July 9 and Tuesday, July 14. Programmes are now available at Sidmouth Information Centre and will shortly be in other outlets.
