IT'S snow time at Devon Libraries with a chance to win tickets to see Holiday on Ice at the Exeter Westpoint Centre in February.

The competition is part of a whole host of games, activities and interactive fun in the Winter edition of The Zone - Devon County Council's library website for children. A portable DVD player is also up for grabs

To enter, go to www.devon.gov.uk/thezone, youngsters need to print off and complete the Christmas Past wordsearch document and hand the completed entry form into their local library or post it to M@x c/o Library HQ, Great Moor House, Bittern Road, Sowton, Exeter, EX2 7NL.

Also on the web are the latest top recommended Winter reads for children, including The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, The museum's secret by Henry Chancellor and Mothstorm by Philip Reeve, plus the chance to read an interview with author Sue Purkiss writer of 'The Willow Man' and 'Warrior King'.

To get into the Christmas spirit, why not try the stained glass biscuit recipe, great for presents or Christmas decorations. There's also a host of on-line games to play including build a snowman, decorate the tree and design your own snowflake.

Visitors to the website can find out the names of all the prize winners in the library's last competition 'Where in Devon', plus the latest goody bag winners. In addition there are all the regular favourites, Max's scrapbook, Xtreme reads and the Book Club Page

Executive Member for Culture, Sheila Hobden said, "The zone has been a big hit with youngsters and this Winter edition promises to be fun packed and full of festive ideas. With over 500 entrants to our last competition, I'm so pleased to see young readers getting on board with all The Zone has to offer.
