A GIANT blue computer mouse and Santa were both on the guest list at St Nick's PTFA Christmas Fair last week which raised over £1000.

The walking and talking computer mouse, hired to greet the pupils, was promoting the new fundraising charity web search engine recently launched by the PTFA.

Everyclick is a charity search engine supported by Ask Jeeves. Once signed up, everytime a search is done on the computer, everyclick will donate a small amount of money to the school's charity.

There were a number of activities at the extravaganza last Thursday afternoon which included face painting, a Christmas tree tombola and a treasure hunt.

Stalls included cakes, snowman games, flashing badges and gifts and festive Christmas puddings.

Flo and Us, phoenix cards and Sidmouth College Young Enterprise all had private tables selling seasonal gifts.

Santa went around all of the classrooms spreading Christmas joy before entering his grotto supported by Sidmouth Lions

Janice May, joint chair of St Nick's PTFA, said: "We have around 350 pupils, so it was very busy along with their parents.

"The atmosphere was exciting, and we did a chocolate fountain for the first time which proved very popular with the children. We sold 220 sticks for 50p each.

"Many thanks go to the local shop keepers that supported our raffle hampers with donations and the PTFA and volunteers that put in many hours to make it such a success."
