Vandals caused more than £500 of damage at Ottery Service Station after destroying a promotional pavement coffee cup.

Clive Sheppard, director of the station, said the Lavazza cup was damaged during the evening of Tuesday, December 27.

He said: “We have been here for 25 years. It’s frustrating and it’s senseless - that’s the deal with this sort of thing.”

Mr Sheppard has appealed for anyone who saw the vandalism to notify the police by calling 101.

He added: “I would hate for this to be the start of a spate as we could nip this in the bud. If anyone has a guilty conscience, then it might make them think again.”
