WORK on widening the pavement outside Porch Cottages, Sidford, is expected to start in June.
There has been a long wait for anxious pedestrians for all the legal loose ends to be sorted out before Devon County Council could begin re-aligning the property's wall to make the path safer to negotiate.
Sidford Councillor Stuart Hughes said: "This is the news that all the Sidford residents, who at present take their lives in their hands walking along this dangerous section of footway, have been waiting to hear and I am delighted that it looks as though the work will be carried out next month prior to the peak holiday season.
