Heartbroken Sidmouth boy's moped 'write off'
A SIDMOUTH teenager, who worked all summer to buy a moped, has been left heartbroken after it was severely damaged by another vehicle this week.
A SIDMOUTH teenager, who worked all summer to buy a moped, has been left heartbroken after it was severely damaged by another vehicle this week.
The black Honda moped was parked in Ascerton Road between 9pm on Wednesday and 8.20am yesterday when the damage occurred.
The bike had been knocked over causing damage to the handle bars and the front forks had been bent.
The front wheels had also been driven over and the chassis had several scratches and dents.

A police spokesperson said: "The bike belonged to a 16-year-old boy who had only bought it a couple of weeks ago.
"He has just started at Bicton College and was travelling there on the moped. He worked hard all summer to buy the moped, tax, insure it and pass his CBT test. It possibly could be a write off."

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or the driver of the vehicle to visit Sidmouth Police Station.
The spokesperson added: "It is possible the driver of the vehicle left their information at the scene but it blew away.
