Wet sponges for Sidmouth nursing home staff in stocks at annual garden party

ENTERTAINMENT at this year’s annual garden party at Holmesley Residential/Nursing Home, Sidmouth, was provided by Seaton Majorettes and Tony Marino.

Residents, with their families and guests enjoyed pleasant weather for the afternoon in the home’s grounds at Fortescue on Saturday.

A variety of stalls, ranging from crafts to cakes, were on offer and the stocks were of particular interest, giving residents the opportunity to douse various members of staff with wet sponges.

Proceeds from the day will go to the Emanuel Stepping Stones Foundation, set up by matron Chaslyn Bryant and a friend, to provide a nursery school for African children in Manjai Kunda, West Africa.
