BLUE Cedar Homes Ltd are intending to promote the development of an area of land located off Eastfield in West Hill through the planning process.

Blue Cedar Homes Ltd is a specialist provider of retirement housing concentrating on quality schemes throughout the south and south west of England. The low density housing schemes incorporate large landscaped areas and architectural design of the highest quality.

The low density housing proposal for the land at Eastfield would create a number of specialist retirement houses, family houses for sale and affordable homes for local people. West Hill would benefit enormously from a balanced quality scheme of this nature, especially with regard to the retirement housing that will cater for those wishing to down size, whilst remaining within the village.

Facilitated through the provision of the proposed housing scheme, the Blue Cedar Homes proposal would provide for the gift of circa 1 acre of land to the adjoining West Hill School. Furthermore, it is Blue Cedar Homes' intention to provide a building upon the gifted land, that would create an additional facility for the school, that could also be used to provide extended services to the families of West Hill.

Nick Yeo, development surveyor at Blue Cedar Homes, outlined the next steps: "In the coming weeks we will be undertaking various site surveys and will be preparing our layout drawings and supporting information. It is our intention to undertake a consultation meeting within West Hill in January, when we are able to display the proposed scheme. However we will liaise with the Residents Association and other interested parties whilst drawing up our scheme and will welcome their input throughout the process. We wish to ensure that the development respects the established nature and environment of the area."
