More than £1,700 was raised for Cancer Research UK at a mole screening day organised by Honiton and District Lions Club
The group staged its third such event at the Coleridge Medical Centre, in Ottery St Mary.
Some 150 people went along, each paying £5 to be seen. The Lions matched the sum to double up the total and other donations were made during the day. Of the people seen, 20 were referred for further screening.
Testing was carried out by consultant Dr Tony Downs, Dr Nigel De Sousa and staff members Melanie Gooding and Emma Snow. Organisers thanked The Coleridge Medical Centre for use of the building. Lion John Quinton-Navarro organised the event and members Sheila Quinton-Navarro and Lyn Guilbert handled the bookings. Additional support was provided by Sainsbury's and Every Solicitors.
Briony Gotch, shop manager for Cancer Research UK in Honiton, went along to receive the cheque for £1,760 from Lions president Brian Richards.
