Sidmouth Hospiscare has received a £2,500 boost from the town’s Rotary club.
Rotary Club of Sidmouth president Keith Walton presented the charity with a cheque after it was chosen as one of three beneficiaries of last year’s Swimathon.
The event saw 150 swimmers take to the water in aid of the town band, the Admiral Nurse Campaign and Sidmouth Hospiscare, raising a total of £7,500.
Dr Gill Ryall, chief executive officer of Sidmouth Hopspiscare, said: “Our links with the local community are so important to us. This cheque will help to maintain our hospice bed at the Victoria Hospital, with its team of dedicated nurses, and our volunteers who help patients at home.”
