VOLUNTEERS to help operate the till and prepare items for sale are needed at Sidmouth s Hospiscare Shop.

VOLUNTEERS to help operate the till and prepare items for sale are needed at Sidmouth's Hospiscare Shop.

Manager Nina Thorpe is keen to hear from any adults, of any age, who is willing to offer a few hours of their week to assist.

Volunteer Terry Minting said: "There are six charity shops in the town competing for volunteers to work in their shop, either behind the till or sorting and steaming items.

"Ideally we would like to have two on the shop floor. If anyone has time on their hands and wants to support a good cause it is a way of making new friendships. The volunteers are a friendly crowd."

The shop, which is open Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5pm, is also in need of more items to sell, especially paperback books, jigsaws, winter clothes; including men's, and bric-a-brac.

Anyone interested in helping can contact Nina on (01395) 577133.
