Hundreds of pounds worth of power tools were stolen from a Sidmouth hotel.
Criminals targeted three outbuildings and containers in the space of four days in the town, police have revealed.
The first took place when a locked shed was broken into and tools were taken overnight, between Tuesday, September 4 and Wednesday, September 5, at a property in Salcombe Lane, Sidford. (Crime ref: CR/081716/18).
On the weekend of September 8 and 9, burglars took £900 worth of tools from a locked container at the Hunters Moon Hotel, in Sid Road - including a blower, hedgecutter and strimmer (CR/083736/18). It’s believed that on the same night, a padlock was broken on a shed at a Salcombe Hill stable - items were moved but nothing was taken (CR/082843/18.)
Sergeant Andy Squires reminded residents to remain vigilant and recommended alarmed padlocks to anyone who stored powertools in outbuildings. Anyone with information on what happened should contact police on 101.
