Hundreds of pounds was raised by campaigners opposing the business park plans at Sidford.

More than 100 residents, who helped raise more than £750 in one evening, have been thanked by the Say NO to Sidford Business Park campaign group.

The Herald previously reported one campaigner’s call for the community to raise enough funds to buy the site themselves. But, this would only happen if plans were rejected and the developer Tim Ford agreed to sell. Although the plans have been rejected , campaigners fear it will go to appeal.

John Loudoun, of the campaign group, said: “We are anticipating the need to fund representation at a planning appeal and this could cost many thousands of pounds. If that doesn’t come to fruition we will be looking at how we might bring about a public purchase for long-term community to use.”

John has appealed to anyone who can afford to donate to email nosidfordbusinesspark@yahoo.com
