HUNDREDS of visitors have taken up the challenge of a great snow-man hunt at Escot Park.

The trail, aimed at children aged under 10, revolves around seven wooden snowmen hidden throughout the grounds.

Youngsters and their parents have to solve a series of riddles to locate the snowmen and find out their names. Intrepid explorers who complete the trail are rewarded with a chocolate treat and certificate of achievement.

Visitor manager Lisa Benton, 34, said: "It has proved a major hit and amazingly popular. We have had at least 1,500 families taking part since we launched the trail on our Christmas Treats weekend in November.

Our numbers have quadrupled in comparison to previous years, because families are sick and tired of being stuck indoors."

Anybody can still join in the fun as the hunt will continue until the end of January.
