CHRISTMAS on Fleming Street in Sidford would just not be the same without the Baker family who are once again illuminating their house.

Alexa, 38, Graham, 40, and their two sons, Jordan and Kyle, are adding festive spirit to the street with a colourful array of Christmas lights, decorations and a snow machine.

Alexa said: "We recently altered the garden so we had to buy even more lights to fill the space and we have made them a bit more of a feature, they can even be seen from Trow Hill!

"A lot of people have come to see them through word of mouth and have commented on our display."

Also to look out for this year is a pumpkin, a glass slipper, tiara, mice, a fairy wand as well as Cindrella, Buttons and the ugly sisters, Mona and Griselda.

Alexa added: "We decided to have a panto theme this year to tie in with our involvement with Cindrella at the Manor Pavilion in January.

"Graham helps with the set and behind the scenes and the boys and I are in the chorus."

This year the family are collecting for Sidmouth College PTFA, which is raising funds to improve the bike storage area and cycle access into the school.

Alexa said: "We tend to raise money for the schools and now Jordan and Kyle have moved up to Sidmouth College we decided the money should go there.

"We raised just short of £100 last year so we would really like to get over the £100 mark this year."

The lights are switched on at around 4.30pm every day.
