ORGANISATIONS which boost Sidmouth and its surrounding areas' rural environment and draw in visitors have their last chance to get involved in a £12.8 million regional initiative tomorrow (December 12).
South West Tourism wants to help applicants in developing proposals that will make a significant difference to the region's rural tourism.
Under the Sustainable Rural Tourism Initiative, financial support can be provided for a wide range of activities which provide access, education and culture in rural areas.
Annette Cole, research and development lead for South West Tourism, said:
"This is a large amount of money and a huge opportunity to develop projects that benefit the whole of the tourism industry for the region.
"We are looking for more projects to ensure the South West is put on the map, in terms of rural development."
The programme is worth £12.8 million to the region and is part of the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE).
Organisations interested in applying for RDPE funding should visit the Development section on www.swtourism.org.uk or contact Annette Cole on (01392) 353 229. Deadline for project submissions is 12 December 2008.
