New interiors showroom offers inspiration for your home

A stylish lifestyle and interiors store is relocating to Alexandria Trading Estate after eight years of trading in Sidmouth town centre.
Bøde Living, formerly known as Dotty Home, offers a modern Danish and Scandinavian feel with it’s carefully curated collection of furniture and gifts in its bright, fun space in its new showroom.
Jen Swales, owner of Bøde Living, said: “Whilst it was heart-breaking to be closed for so long during the pandemic, we found ourselves pushing the business in a different direction and found a new energy for what we do. We've always wanted a space to showcase larger interior items and have a particular passion for Danish and Scandinavian design so with this move we are now able to do all of those things and more. With a big, bold move we wanted a new identity and so Bøde Living was born and we feel it matches our energy and confidence in what we do. We are a small team of three and have over 15 years of experience behind us, great relationships with some fabulous brands and we have thrown it all into this project.
“After eight years in the town centre, we simply outgrew our space and to be able to do everything we want to do for both our retail and online presence a big move was needed. Although we aren't on the high street anymore we hope to be a place you can come to, park up or walk from home and lose yourself for half an hour. We love our local customers so it was important that we could continue to build those relationships and still have the same feel with similar products such as our tableware ranges, gifts and cards but on a larger but more select scale.
“We are in the heart of Sidmouth, just out of town on Alexandria Trading Estate and we absolutely love being up here, it's our little spot of escapism and although it is a hive of activity, it is also calm and peaceful and we have great neighbours such as Fords of Sidmouth and Buzz Coffee Roasters and lots more! We love the juxtaposition of being a stylish interiors showroom with an industrial backdrop.
“Our main aim for Bøde Living is to have a fun and beautiful space where people can come to buy for their home, their friends or to simply get some inspiration and have a chat. Being off the hustle of the high street we will be able to give more time to our customers and share what we are up to with those further afield.
Whether you're new to us or a former friend of Dotty Home we just want to say a huge thanks for stopping by. Taking on a new venture, especially in the midst of a Global Pandemic is rather daunting but we have had an overwhelming amount of support.”
You can find Bøde Living on Alexandria Trading Estate, Sidmouth, EX109HL.
