Budding poets are being encouraged to take inspiration from the Jurassic Coast by joining a poetry walk in Sidmouth.

Sarah Acton, the Jurassic Coast poet-in-residence, will lead the event along the seafront on Wednesday, September 27.

The poet is working with Sidmouth Museum by taking inspiration from its collection.

The project has been supported by the Sid Vale Association, Jurassic Coast Trust and the East Devon District Council.

Sarah said: “Everyone is welcome to come.

“It’s a gentle walk along the seafront pausing to reflect on the story of the land and its coastal history. With some poems read, some exercises to stimulate creativity and inspiration to awaken the imagination.”

It will take place from 3pm to 4pm starting at Port Royal.

In the case of bad weather it will be take place in the museum. Participants are asked to dress for the weather and take a pen and paper.
