TRAGIC events in Iraq forced GMTV to pull the plug on plans to broadcast live from Ottery earlier this week.

The town was set to be broadcast live to millions on Monday morning after reporter for the hit ITV show Matt Arnold last week contacted the Herald for an insight into its controversial dog ban debate.

However, news last week of the death of two British hostages in Iraq meant the show had to change its priorities and scrap the planned visit.
