I Made a Mistake, published by Penguin, is told from the point of view of two leading female characters, Poppy and her mother-in-law Betty. Both women live under the same roof with Poppy’s husband and teenage children. Life is pretty comfortable and harmonious, until Poppy has a chance encounter with her first love at a social event, igniting an unwanted spark and triggering a massive change that affects all of their lives. Meanwhile, it seems that Betty, a widow, also has her love secrets going back to the 1960s.

The story, written in the first person, is an emotionally charged thriller, revealing the minds of the main characters in a well-paced way, capturing how closely their lives are intertwined, exposing a fierce family loyalty.

One reviewer said: “Jane Corry is a master storyteller. Highly polished storylines leave no questions unanswered, and clever twists are expertly woven into the plot. Her writing style ebbs and flows gracefully from one page to the next, making this altogether a very difficult book to put down.

“Local readers will truly appreciate the many references to East Devon in Jane’s stories. In fact, one could assume, that Jane Corry has a big love for the area.”

Her other four books – My Husband’s Wife, The Dead Ex, I Looked Away and Blood Sisters – are all best-sellers.

Jane is a full-time Penguin novelist and a hands-on grandmother. She lives in Sidmouth and loves wild water swimming, tennis and writing!

‘I Made a Mistake’ is available at bookshops, including Winstone’s, Paragon Books and other outlets.
