Jazz concert trumpets £700 Peru charity bonanza

THE SPIRIT of jazz came alive at a concert earlier this month last Friday evening when over £700 was raised for a Peru charity.
City Steam Jazz Band, a local group, performed in front of a packed audience at Ottery Football Club on Friday, November 14 in aid of the Colour of Hope Charity.
The family run charity works with disadvantaged young people in Peru who were badly abused when they were children.
The charity provides support for young adults aged 18 and over to integrate back into society after they are no longer allowed to stay in children's homes.

Margaret Stephens, a member of the fundraising family, was delighted with the event. She said: "It was an absolutely fantastic event. There was an excellent turn out and everybody really enjoyed themselves.
"There was a wide age range of people, from the young to the young at heart.

"It was a nice celebratory evening where we could be happy and spread some sunshine out into Ottery after the flooding.
"I would like to thank everyone who helped out and attended the concert. The money raised will really help young people in Peru.
