Inferno sparked by ‘people who should not have been there’ say fire chiefs.

THE blaze that ripped through Sidmouth’s Fortfield Hotel was more than likely caused by “people who should not have been there”- say fire and rescue chiefs.

“There is no electric or other supplies into the hotel. At this time it is reasonable to assume this is an accidental or deliberate act- by people who should not have been there,” said Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service group manager Adge Tilke.
