Leader of East Devon District Council, Sara Randall Johnson, is one of three people shortlisted by the Totnes Conservative Association for local voters to select its general election candidate.

Last week the Tories confirmed they would be holding an 'open primary' with 69,000 voters being invited to pick Anthony Steen's successor.

The other candidates are Nick Bye, Torbay's mayor and Dr Sarah Wollaston, a GP.
