Residents are being invited to learn more about East Devon’s expanded recycling service before it is rolled out next month.

Households will be able to recycle more than ever before – meaning landfill waste will only be collected every three weeks.

The new system will see cardboard, cartons/Tetra Paks, plastics including pots, tubs, bottles and trays and small electrical items added to the kerbside collections.

East Devon District Council’s new service has already begun in Exmouth, where the nearly 17,000 households are recycling 15 per more than they had done before. They now recycle 60 per cent of their waste.

It will be rolled out across rest of the district from June 12.

Officers will be on hand to explain the new service in Sidmouth Library on Wednesday, May 17, from 9.30am to 12.30pm, and in Ottery St Mary Library from 10am to 1pm on Thursday, June 1.
