BEAVERS in Sidmouth have been given an insight into the work of a pair of the town’s emergency services this summer.
They visited the lifeboat station to learn about the work of the independent cause and were told what they should do to keep themselves safe on the beach and in the sea.
Youngsters were thrilled to sit in the boat and Oliver Fletcher got to wear some of the crew’s equipment.
Firefighters from Sidmouth visited the beavers at the Salcombe Recreational Field and gave a talk about fire safety and dressed one of the group’s leaders, Jo Pullen, up in their safety kit.
Children also had a go with heat sensitive cameras and got to shoot water from a hose at one another.
